Bob O'Brien

After a two year stint in the U.S. Army, including a tour in Vietnam, Bob O'Brien started his insurance career in March of 1968 as a commercial property and casualty underwriter trainee.  He spent the next 18 years underwriting commercial accounts including large risks and excess business with an emphasis on casualty accounts.  The last eleven years before becoming an E&S broker, Bob managed the Chicago branch of an umbrella and excess umbrella company.  In February of 1986, Bob joined Kelly and Elliott, Ltd. as President.  He has managed the firm in writing Excess and Surplus lines business for a number of retail agencies since that time.

Mary Kay McNichols has 35 years experience in the insurance industry, both on the company underwriting/management side, as well as the wholesale brokerage side, and has been with Kelly and Elliott for the past 8 years.  She prides herself on her ablity to write unique accounts and coverages, and finds innovative solutions for hard-to-place business.  Mary Kay specializes in General Liability, Property, Products, Pollution, Umbrella/Excess Liability and Professional Liability.

Wayne Mruk has been in the insurance industry since 1966.  He started as a premium auditor and from there moved on to underwriting Commercial General Liability and Umbrellas.  After six years of underwriting, he started as a producer for a major international agency.  He has spent the past 30 years as a surplus lines broker and office administrator, 25 of which were spent at Kelly and Elliott.  Wayne specializes in Underground Storage Tank Liability.

Carol Nye started her insurance career in 1980.  She completed her CPCU designation in 1992, and has been with Kelly and Elliott since 1996.  She specializes in Property and Casualty related business including, but not limited to, General Liability, Property, Products, Pollution, Umbrella/Excess Liability, and Self Insured Workers Compensation.

Patty Severa has been in the insurance industry since 1983.  She has always been on the wholesale side of the business where her focus has been D&O, EPL, Fiduciary, and Professional Liability coverages.  Some of the coverages she handles include, but are not limited to, Accountants, A&E, Insurance Agents, Lawyers Professional, Media, Miscellaneous, Privacy/Data Breach, Public Officials, School Board Legal, Technology, and Tenant Discrimination.  She welcomes the challenges that the professional liability world provides, especially in regards to Miscellaneous coverages since there are so many different classes of business.

Jeff Vick has worked in the insurance industry since 1987.  After managing the marketing operations of a large insurance agency, he moved on to become the Territorial Manager and Senior Commercial Underwriter for Illinois and Wisconsin.  From there he became an Account Executive responsible for maintaining and expanding a large retail book of business.  Jeff has been with Kelly and Elliott since 2005 and specializes in Property and Casualty lines, specifically General Liability, Property, Products, Pollution, and Umbrella/Excess Liability.

Kathy Marschke has worked within the insurance industry for over 30 years.  She specializes in liquor liability and controls Kelly and Elliott's entire liquor liability program.  Before working at Kelly and Elliott, Kathy ran the liquor liability program for many large brokerages.  She has been with Kelly and Elliott since 1995.

After working in the marketing division of a large law firm in Chicago, Corie Wall decided to learn the ins-and-outs of the insurance industry and began her career at Kelly and Elliott in November of 2009.  Currently she is focused on initiating marketing efforts for Kelly and Elliott, as well as building her own book of business.  As she moves into the role of a full-fledged broker, she will concentrate on all Property and Casualty lines.
